In the US we have two sides or two parties. But I think we have more than two.
We have Republicans and Democrats. And we have the Bible.
We have conservatives and liberals. And we have the Bible.
We have Right and Left. And we have the Bible.
We even have capitalism and communism. And we have the Bible.
We have Oligarchy, and we have Meritocracy. And we have the Bible.
One thing that our economic system has done is to separate people by class and education so that we do not mix or mingle anymore. But church is not set up by class or education or even by political party. It is set up by faith in and belief in Jesus Christ. Our church is held together by our common faith. Period.
Injecting politics or political ideas into a local church erodes that common bond and causes some to stumble. Not everyone votes like you think that they vote.
America is a Christian nation, not because our founders were Christian, but because a lot of Christians live here.
By the way. It is the Bible, not politics, that guides our lives. We come to church to hear a man of God explain to us how the ancient words of the Bible apply to our lives today. We do not come to hear old stories told again and how ancient people behaved. We come to hear what God in Christ will do now, today.
