Pastor announced that he was going to be ministering to those who were having trouble sleeping. I don't have trouble sleeping on my schedule, but it is a real problem for some people. As pastor got into his message I noticed that his Bible verses were about sleeping, but his sermon seemed to be about how God uses sleeplessness to accomplish His specific purposes. That sometimes God prevents us from sleeping or wakes us up.
In the end, pastor prayed for those who had trouble sleeping, but he preached on the value of not sleeping as it pertains to the will of God.
It is a rule of preaching that you need to stick to your notes lest you get too long winded, or you wander too far afield from your intended message. Notes keep the preacher focused on what is important.
