I know in my head that not every church is the same. It's when I see how different things are that I have to step back and say, it is different here for sure!
We begin the home Bible study season this week. We were told how valuable and important these small groups are. They promoted them heavily. And then I found out that we will only have 4 sessions through the end of the year. There is one more, but it is just to eat. I guess they aren't that important.
Pastor Mitchell spoiled me. He was always by the main entrance when you walked into the building. He would shake your hand and look you in the eye. And when pastor headed for the stage you knew church was about to begin. Here, no pastor waits by any entrance, and often pastors aren't on stage when the service begins. Just saying.
In Prescott, pastor Mitchell made himself available after every service up on the front of the platform for prayer or counseling. He would not talk long with you. But he was available. I miss that.
When you need to talk to a pastor, it helps if you can find one.
