The Disappointed Son

 Under the Law, the firstborn son gets a double portion of the family estate. In Christ, all of the benefits of the Law are ours. Except when they aren't.

When my father died in 2007, I got nothing from him. His wife got everything.

When my stepfather died, his wife got everything. I got nothing.

When I die, my will provides that my estate be divided equally between my two children. So I am better than my parents because, while I won't leave much, I will leave them something.
