"The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; my father's God, and I will exalt Him." Exod.15:2
Once Moses and the people had escaped the army of Egypt, they paused to thank God with a song. These words are from a people who were facing destruction and certain death who were suddenly free and they were amazed by what had just happened.
When God moves it not a time to be proud or arrogant or to act like a know it all. It is a time to be amazed and to be humble and to be grateful. When a young couple gets married it is a time to be grateful. When a loved one gets saved, when a job opens up, when you get an unexpected windfall of money, when you are miraculously healed. These are times to be grateful to God.
Let's not make the same mistake that others have made, by thinking that we did, or deserved, what God did. We say that this is a work of God. It really is. We have a lot to be grateful to God for.
That's why we sing!
