Aging Saints

If you are a young parent and you have a sick child there are resources available to help you know what to do. The older you get, the less resources there are to help you navigate through life. Even in church; where ministry is directed towards the young, the new converts, and the early days of revival.

One thing pastor Greg did was to bring on staff someone to minister to the senior citizens in the Prescott church. And even that guy finds it hard to focus only on old folks.

Many of the nagging illnesses that old folks have are a result of living a long time. Should we encourage assisted suicide?

Children need a unique brand of care. New converts need a unique brand of care. Families and marriages need a unique brand of care. Please do not think it strange that older folks also need a unique brand of care and ministry.

We hear three sermons a week every week. That's a lot of preaching. Don't you think that once in a while a sermon could address the needs and concerns of our aging saints? More than telling them to act young?

Old soldiers never die. They just fade away. So said General McArthur.
