I dreamed about the church in Tempe Arizona last night. Some of it was just a crazy dream. But some things I remember.
One, I was remembered there. As I walked through the front door I was greeted by men who knew me and who were obviously glad to see me.
Two, The place was packed and crowded with people. Church was just about to start and the place was buzzing with excitement.
Three, there was a huge choir on stage ready to sing. This stood out to me. Most of our Fellowship churches do not have a choir. But in my dream Tempe had a big one.
Four, this dream did not picture a store front building. It was a classic old cathedral.
I wonder why we do not have choirs in our Fellowship? Prescott used to have two. I think that being so laser focused on evangelism makes us unaware of anything else that makes a church a nice place to spend an hour or two on a Sunday morning.
Our church has people who can sing. What we do not seem to have is someone to lead a choir. And a choir does not fit our mold as an evangelistic powerhouse.
Anyway, it was just a dream. I usually do not remember the details of my dreams. But the memory of this dream is still vivid in my memory this morning.
