A Risen Savior

Some Christian churches do communion every Sunday. Many churches in our Fellowship do communion on Easter Sunday morning. We don't. We will have a communion service on April 19, a Sunday night,  after Easter.  I heard that it is because we do not want to get too religious. Jesus simply said that as often as you do this do it in remembrance of me. The day is not nearly as important as the remembering.

Because we believe in a risen savior all the time we do not wait until Easter Sunday to celebrate. Every time we assemble we celebrate a risen savior. We believe that He gathers with us every service. That is the difference between a religious person and a born again believer. Religious people rely on external stimulus like days and dates. We worship a risen savior who is alive today and who helps us in our hour of need.
